Epoxy Floor
Service Description
1. Preparation Clean the surface: Grind, shot-blast, or sand the concrete to remove coatings, paint, or sealers. Repair damage: Fill cracks, holes, or spalling with epoxy patch or repair mortar. Moisture test: Ensure the concrete is dry (moisture vapor can ruin epoxy). Dust removal: Vacuum and wipe down with acetone or denatured alcohol. 2. Primer Coat Apply a clear or pigmented epoxy primer using a roller or squeegee. This ensures adhesion and seals the pores in the concrete. Allow primer to cure (usually 6–12 hours). 3. Base Coat Roll on a solid-colored epoxy base coat (typically black, gray, or white). This enhances the depth of the metallic look. Cure for 8–12 hours before applying metallic layer. 4. Metallic Epoxy Layer Mix epoxy resin + metallic pigment powder thoroughly. Pour in ribbons across the floor. Use a squeegee or roller to spread. Create effects with techniques such as: Blowing with a leaf blower (creates flowing waves). Spraying alcohol or denatured alcohol (creates cratered, marbleized effects). Using a paintbrush or trowel to swirl pigments. 5. Topcoat (Protective Layer) Once metallic epoxy has cured (12–24 hours), apply a clear urethane or polyaspartic topcoat. Provides scratch resistance, UV protection, and chemical resistance. Leaves a glossy or satin finish.
